Leather 

Spotted all over the fall 2020 runways, leather is in again. Textured handbags were a new style that felt the most noticeable. Whether braided or woven, real or faux — leather textures are a sure bet for this season.

Fringe

Look no further than fringe details this fall if you’re looking for a bold handbag trend. And the longer the fringe, the better! We saw exaggerated fringe finishes at Dior and several other runways as well as adorning the fall ready-to-wear scene. If you’re not quite courageous enough to try out this trend, a fringe-heavy handbag should work just fine as well! 

Geometric Shapes

The fall 2020 runways were also full of sharp angles, bold lines, and all things geometry inspired. While some designers chose classic shapes, more avant-garde labels showed off and showed up with triangle-cut-out designs, square bags, and multi-sided clutches. This trend is a bit harder to pull off if you’re not opting for a classic circle-shaped bag — but it’s fun to try on for size!

Faux Fur

Every fall and winter season, we see some type of fur handbag trend surface, and this year is no different. From shaggy (and real) shearling styles to faux furs, the furry bag look made an appearance in the most high fashion shows. It’s just up to you to decide whether you prefer to carry faux or real fur!

Patchwork

This trend is one that you’re likely to love or hate. hy choose one fabric when you can have? Patchwork bags featuring an assortment of carefully melded suedes and leathers were shown on a multitude of runways. This trend just proves our point that the more unique your handbag, the better. From small vintage clutches to large hobo style bags, the patchwork look is an update your handbag may need this season. 

Chunky Metal Chains

Another retro inspired vibe was found in the chunky chains and metal rope handles on this season’s handbags. These heavy metal adornments feel like even the finest brands are getting an edgy update. And even though the chunky metal chain trend has been seen in the accessories realm for a couple of seasons, approaching it from a handbag perspective this season feels like a really fresh approach.
