5 Ways to Style Athleisure and Activewear for Women

Yoga pants and Adidas sneakers are no longer just for the gym or pilates studio. Now you can find women wearing activewear everywhere they go! This is probably the most comfortable of all the latest trends, so it’s obviously worth a try! Here are 5 different ways you can rock the hottest trends in “athleisure”.

But first, a few things to know about wearing athleisure:

One of the most important things to know about this trend is that crisp, new pieces are key. Because this fashion trend is already way more casual than most, it’s important to avoid looking like you just rolled out of bed.

Another thing to note is comfort. You can find plenty of brands out there that sell stylish but comfortable pieces. You should never have to sacrifice comfort for this trend. Try brands like Adidas, Nike, Outdoor Voices, and LuluLemon.

1.) Clean white sneakers and black leggings

This might be the most popular activewear look right now. Find yourself an adorable pair of white tennis shoes. Leather always works better than cotton because they are easier to keep clean.

Then grab a pair of black leggings to rival the crisp white color of your shoes. Make sure your leggings aren’t see-through so you can wear them with any kind of top.

2.) A baseball cap and sweater

The baseball caps have made a huge comeback. Find a cute neutral-tone cap and pair it with a long ponytail or straightened hairstyle.

This look isn’t just for playing sports anymore. Pairing this with an oversized off-the-shoulder sweater or long, loose cardigan makes for a cute + casual everyday look.

3.) A colorful sports bra and yoga pants combo

Matching yoga pants and sports bras are one of the most popular trends in athleisure right now. You’ll look awesome rocking this look at a pilates class.  And you’ll look especially cool sporting the matching set to the grocery store or juice bar.

You could go for a more neutral tone for the set — or you could get outside of your comfort zone and try a brighter color, depending on the season.

4.) A bomber jacket and leggings

Bomber jackets are a must-have item for the fall anyway, so why not sport one a bit early for your activewear look?

A cute dark-colored bomber jacket matched with a sports bra and leggings makes for an edgy (yet casual) look during the day.

5.) Bike shorts and a cropped tee

This is probably the most casual look out of our athleisure list, but it’s one definitely worth trying. If you have a ton of errands to run during the day but want to look good doing it, try pairing a cute pair of spandex biker shorts with a cropped tee.

Biker shorts are out of the 90’s vault and back in style this year, so it’s the perfect time to rock this comfortable piece. A cropped tee is always flattering, and you can easily find age-appropriate styles.

Don’t be afraid to get on board with the hottest trend right now: athleisure. You’ll be able to keep the comfort of your at-home loungewear but you’ll look sexier than ever.
